What are the payment options?
Will they accept more than just the bassic cards or will I have to use those damned pre-paid cards again?

It is possible to get an upgade for less then $200 to be able to play AoC comfortably on low to medium settings, you dont need a whole new PC. Also you can sell your old parts on Ebay after buying new stuff.
Look at what I did:
I had a two year old PC with an Athlon X2 4400+, 2 Gb of premium DDR1 ram, an ATI X1900 xtx, and an Asus A8R32 MVP deluxe motherboard. Both the ram and the motherboard I had were the best things available for S939.
I bought my new components and paid the following:
Intel E8400 - £129
Asus Silent Knight 2 - £30
MSI P35 Neo 2 - £66
4x1 Gb DDR2 ram - £90
ATI HD 3870 - £125
I sold my old parts on Ebay for:
Athlon X2 4400+ - £80
Asus A8R32 MVP deluxe - £80
2 Gb ram - £70.00 (DDR1 is a lot more expensive then DDR2 right now)
ATI X1900 xtx - £85
So I paid £125 for the upgrade, plus Ebay fees and postage costs on the items.
Also, last week I upgraded to a 2x2 Gb ram set for £76 and bought a second 500 Gb Samsung T166 hard drive for £42.29, and i sold my current ram for £40 and £35 per pair, and I just got £33 for my old 300 Gb hard drive, so I paid just over £10 for that lot, plus Ebay fees and postage. Similarly, I will be upgrading to an ATI 4800 card next month and selling my 3870.
Anyone can do this, it doesnt take long to learn how to build and upgrade computers, or use Ebay to sell your old components.
While average joe wouldnt do this, for people with normal intelligence, it is extremely easy to upgrade and sell if you keep an eye out for deals and buy good stuff. And Ebay is full of plenty of people that will buy your old parts, as long as you dont sell anything dodgy and maintain a good possitive feedback (I'm still on 100%), you would have no problems affording your upgrades every one or two years.

All those classes are based on the lore, not Guildwars or any other MMO you idiot. The classes offer a lot of diversity, and the character development system seems great - so there will be something for everyone. Every game is going to have melee & ranged classes, spellcasters.. healers.. If a game has a character with a sword and shield, people like you will just think "OMG LIEK WORRIOR - GW CLONEZ!!1!!one!" That's not the game designers copying other MMO's, that's just you being narrow minded.

I've finally done some research, and will defo be getting AoC. (providing my PC can run it - seems to be up to the specs, we will see..)
So now everytime some immature retard wants to talk smack, he's going to regret not rolling on the carebear server.

Gear isnt as imbalanced in AoC as it is in WoW.
But then again, everysingle MMO, except GW of course is based on gear.
But AoC at least seperates PVP gear and levels from PVE gear and levels.
Anyway, I dont see what the whole commotion from people that dont like the game is all about. Why exactly should you be so bothered if other people are going to play AoC?
And WoW really isnt much better then what that video comparison shows. The combat in WoW - Point and click. As you level up, you get more skills to click on, oooooooh, shiny buttons. The quests are terrible, kill XXX of YYY, Collect AAA of item BBB. And the graphics .... Lol, just about every game looks better then WoW.
There really isnt anything wrong with the video, it shows just what WoW is like. Oh, and lets not forget about the terrible PVP ...

im really curious but why do you seem to love AoC so much? the game isn't out yet but that hasn't stopped you from trying to defend the game from just about every negative comment or concern someone has had about the game
also that video has absolutely nothing to do with WoW.....

Just the same reason for why I and many many many people loved Oblivion before it was released (hype, lol), but heres a few reasons for AoC:
1) Graphics
2) Combat
3) Great Classes
4) First mature rated MMORPG
The only negative concern people have is 'OMG it wont run on my Pee Cee!'.
Other then that, there is nothing negative about it.
Also, the single video of the horseriding made my jaw drop in amazement and made me love the game even more.
And just how can people hate a game which isnt even released yet? That makes less sense to me. You are judging that a game that has so far gotten everything about the MMORPG genre right, with a great new combat system and graphics, and plenty of awards, is going to fail. I just lol when I hear negativity towards an unreleased game.
Vanguard failed due to a very bad development team. However, funcom are getting just about everything about AoC right so far, and they are already fixing bugs and patching the beta faster then I have seen in any other game so far.
Oh yea, and Guild Wars also failed (at least for me) due to a very bad development team that completely ruined the great game I originally started playing.

I heard gear doesn't equate to skill. AoC caters to skill.
Not every game is about the phat lewtz.

Some people just wont like any game, despite it being head and shoulders above everything else in its genre and setting a new benchmark.
I havnt seen a single RPG since Oblivion that was even half as good as the standard that Oblivion set. AoC literally doubles up on the standard of Oblivion.
There probably wont be another game this good untill Elder Scrolls 5. If I am going to pay monthly for a game, I am going to pay for the best one I can get for my money. Between AoC and WoW, the choice is clear which one I am going to choose.

my comment wasn't serious
and bhavv i agree with you that condemning a game before its release is silly....but i also think saying how great a game is before its release is also just as silly

I wonder just how many people said that WoW, GW and Oblivion were great before they were released
And I am judging the game based on peoples comments from the betas.
But really, If I look at everything from AoC, and line it up against everything from Warhammer online, all I can say is Warhammer has just been pwned.
The CE's of AoC have already sold out fast. Ive been cheeky and placed a Pre order at Amazon, Game and Play and will cancel the ones from Game and Amazon after getting my bonus keys lol. Game are sending the key out on 10th may, Play on 14-15th may, and Amazon on the 16th may.
Amazon = in game bow
Game = War Mammoth
Play = Rhino
apparantly there are also two seperate 8 slot inventory bonuses too, one bag and one belt amongst the various pre orders, so I shoul get 16 extra slots. No idea if this is correct though.
The bow is designed to be a great mid game weapon to use from level 20 and will give you an advantage over other players around levels 20-40. Then from level 40, you can start using the mounts, but they are rumored to be PVP only mounts for castle sieges.

That comparison video is just bad. I'm not sure if you're trying to convince yourself or others
I'm switching to Age of Conan after having played GW and WoW for a really long time. And the main reason to switch is because its new. Not because it is better than WoW. Players and developers will be laughed at if they think a game has more to offer than WoW. With billions of dollars, 10+ million subscribers, and one of the best development studios in the business, the only thing which can *beat* WoW is itself. But like Guild Wars, WoW has about exceeded its lifetime. That is the only reason to switch.
Again, that video is absolutely terrible. Look at a high res Illidan Stormrage kill video(~15mins) and see if there's anything in all of gaming that compares.
